Explaining and analyzing the factors affecting the success of team sports from the viewpoint of coaches of team sports

Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to explain and analyze the factors affecting the success of team sports from the viewpoint of team sports coaches (football, basketball, handball, volleyball) in Kurdistan province.
Methodology: The research method was descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the study consisted of 1899 first, second and third degree coaches of team sports in Kurdistan province. Sampling method was the random simple and the sample size was 320 people using a Morgan table. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire designed after a library study and interview with coaches and identifying all the factors affecting the success of team sports in Kurdistan province in a five-point Likert scale. The validity of the questionnaire was verified by 10 sports management professors and its reliability was confirmed in a preliminary study using Cronbach's alpha test with a coefficient of 0.84. To test the research hypotheses, one-sample t-test and Friedman test were used. Factors influencing the success of team sports after the library studies and interviewing the experts in 8 dimensions; hardware factors, financial factors, media factors, psychological factors, technical factors, management factors, marketing factors, socio-cultural factors were categorized.
Results: The results of one-sample t-test indicated that all of these dimensions had a significant effect on the success of team sports in Kurdistan province in comparison with the average score and index 3. Also, the results of Friedman test showed that the most important factors affecting the success of team sports are the factors of hardware, financial, managerial, technical, marketing, psychological, socio-cultural and media respectively.
Discussion: Considering the identified factors, especially the factors of facilities, financial and management, can contribute to the success of team sports in Kurdistan province and provide the basis for their ascent to higher levels of the country.
