Abstract
Introduction: Considering the growth of psychology in recent decades and also paying attention to special sports activities that affect aspects of this area such as pleasure welfare and emotional intelligence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the pleasure and intelligence of welfare of the athlete and non-athlete veterans in South Khorasan province.
Methodology: This study was descriptive-analytic and field-based.The statistical population of the study consisted of male veterans of South Khorasan province who due to limitation of the number of disabled athletes in the research community, 60 veterans participated in the study. Therefore, among the rest of statistical population, 60 non-athlete participants were randomly selected to participate in the research. The research instrument was a questionnaire of positive and negative affective standard questionnaires (Watson, Clark & Tellegen, 1988) and Basic Needs Satisfaction in Exercise scale (Diner et al., 1985) for investigating the Hedonism well-being and emotional intelligence of Sharing (EQ). Validity of the questionnaires was assessed by a group of university professors.Reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha (αpas=0.80, αnas=0.88, αswls=0.82, αEQ=0.84). Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (T, Pearson) and SPSS version 20.
Results: The findings of this study showed that there is a direct and significant relationship between Hedonism well-being and emotional intelligence of veterans (α=0.05, r=0.33). Based on the results, it can be seen that the mean scores of Hedonism well-being is more in athletes is 81.63 than in non-athletes which is 73.22 (t=6.54, p=0.001).The findings of the study showed that athletic veterans had a generally more positive affection (tpasdf=118, sig=0.02=13.60) and Basic Needs Satisfaction in Exercise scale (tswlsdf=118, sig=0.09=1.91) and less negative effective (tnasdf=118, sig=0.001=3.08) than non-athletes.In the dimension of emotional intelligence, the mean of the two groups is also significant, so that the mean scores of athletes is 80.44 and non-athletes is 70.05, which is significant between the two groups (t =3.25, p=0.001).
Discussion: Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that athletes in different aspects of psychology in general and emotional intelligence dimensions and Hedonism well-being in particular than the non-athletes are in a better situation. According to the previous research and the results and the positive effect of exercise in the lives of veterans, it is suggested that by appropriate measures, barriers and problems of veterans' sports be solved so that they can reduce their physical and physiological problems to a certain extent.
