Abstract
Introduction: Social participation has always been an essential component in organizing human activities in social life. In many countries, the right to participate in sports, recreational activities and leisure has become a major policy. Social participation is one of the voluntary activities through which members of a community participate in the affairs of the city and village neighborhood and contribute directly or indirectly to shaping social life.
Methodology: The method of this study was a comparative study of several European and Asian countries and its comparison with Iran on community participation in sport, of which 5 were European countries and 5 Asian countries were selected and examined through various sites and related articles.
Results: The results showed, Various factors affect participation in sport and physical activity (PA), and it has been well demonstrated that the socio-economic status (SES) is a very important factor in this regard. There is also a growing evidence that, given the residential areas, there is a noticeable difference in the patterns of sports participation.and that the participation of the Iranian people in sports compared to the European and Asian countries is low, while the overall sport has a smaller share than other sports.
Discussion: Therefore, the most important necessity and task of sports policy makers is to pay attention to the development of sport among the general population. Sport, on the other hand, is a social right for humans. In 2003, the United Nations considered sport as a social right and stated that the opportunity to participate in sports and physical activity was a human right and Governments are required to provide the opportunity to participate in sports, and the government's policy of sport should go ahead.
