Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the speed of movement, reaction time and GRF during the execution of the kicks “Ap Chagi” and “Naeryeo Chagi” by dominant and non-dominant foot in elite male taekwondo players.
Methodology: For this purpose, 10 members of Iran's Taekwondo National Team at age 18.60 ± 1.35 (years), height 184.40 ± 4.90 (cm) and weight 70.00 ± 9.51 (kg) participated in this study. To measure the speed of movement, reaction time and the ground reaction used of force plate and a video camera at 120 Hz. In this study participant simultaneously with embedding their mainstay foot on force plate and as soon as turning on the light proceeded to kick “Ap Chagi” and “Naeryeo Chagi” with their antonym foot one by the right then by the left. Obtained data from research was analyzed by using paired t-test by SPSS statistical software version 20 at a significance level of 0.05.
Results: The results of this research in some kinematic variables phase of the first, second and third was observed significant difference in “Ap Chagi” and “Naeryeo Chagi”. The ground reaction forces were also significant differences during the execution the kicks in both directions and reaction time.
Discussion: Therefore, it was suggested that start with maximum force, and to strengthen the muscles can maximize power of extension and flexion of the knee. Given the fact that the taekwondo In the implementation of techniques Must have both of your feet And also benefit effective use of blows poke and throwing feet like Ap Chagi and Naeryeo Chagi in taekwondo races. That's the number of high-kick strikes considered, results in using of both top and bottom legs among elite athletes is important in the tournament.
