Comparative study of general health of active and passive male students in Urmia city

Abstract
Introduction: According to the importance of general health among students, this study evaluated and compared the general health of active and passive students in Urmia and interactions between physical activity and exercise on this factor had studied and also comparison of effective factors and the amount of physical activity or inactivity on physical and psycho-social health doubled the importance of this study.
Methodology: Estimated statistical sample of this study which calculated according to Morgan's table includes 15633 secondary school students who follow active participation in physical activity and sports as well as passive students who do not have any physical activity, were selected as a research sample from the schools of Urmia. In this study, a general health standard questionnaire containing 28 questions in 4 sub-files and trusted validity and reliability was used. For statistical analysis, inferential statistics were used, 400 students were divided into two active and passive groups and for each group, 200 questionnaires were distributed. Based on the results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, drawing tables and graphs in the diagnosis of data distribution was used and also for testing the hypothesis of the research, Iu-Mann-Whitney test and Spearman correlation coefficient test were used.
Results: The result of this study demonstrates the importance of physical activity and sports among students which obtained a significant difference among active students In terms of physical fitness, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and depression. But there was no significant difference in social function.
Discussion: It is concluded that extending physical activity among students can be one of the most important scientific tools for reducing risk factors and developing general health of the community. In the case of providing scientific solutions, it can increase the level of mental and physical health of the community and, in general, increase the life span of strategic action in addition to decreasing the number of illnesses, risk factors and heavier medical costs.
