Abstract
Introduction: The aim of the research was to survey of relationship between motivation of sport participation with happiness of boys of first and second high schools in Garmsar.
Methodology: The research method was a descriptive-correlative survey. The population studied was all 1st and 2nd grade high school students of Garmsar in 2014-5 academic year. Based on the statistics provided by Education ministry of Garmsar, 1004 students were studying in the 1st grade while 1065 were studying in the 2nd grade of high school. Based on Morgan`s table, 278 and 283 students were selected with random level sampling method from the 1st and 2nd grades of high school. The 30-question sport cooperation questionnaire (Gill et al, 1983) with 92% stability and 29-question Oxford happiness standard questionnaire (1986) with 0.91 stability were used in this study. According to standard questionnaire and their reported narrative, the nominal narrative was approved using the opinions of 20 professors in sport management for getting more confidence. To analyze the research findings statistically, the mean, the standard deviation, the distribution charts and figures were used in descriptive statistics. To test the study hypotheses, Kolmogorov–Smirnov test was used to check the normality of the distribution, Pearson correlation test, one sample t and multi-varibale regression.
Results: The results of the research indicated that there is a relationship between the sport cooperating motivation with the happiness of male students in the first and also second grades of high school in Garmsar. In addition, the results indicated that 99% of students motivated enough to play sports while only 1% was not motivated enough.
Discussion: Therefore, it is suggested that the officials of the physical education department of education ministry should provide appropriate playgrounds in school while motivating the internal and external incentives to make the school students happier.
