Abstract
Introduction: Pelvic and trunk stability is essential for all exercises. Power stability is also an important center area of the body to improve balance and performance of an athlete in motion is the upper and lower extremities. with regard to important role of core muscle in balance and importance of preventing injuries caused by balance disorders in athletes, also direct effect of muscle fatigue on reducing balance provides need for research about this topic. The purpose of this study was, the effect of trunk flexor muscles fatigue on dynamic balance in young taekwondo.
Methodology: for this purpose, Participated 25 young taekwondo with a mean age 17/7 ±1/4, height 177 ± 6/51 and weight 63 ± 5/8. Measured variable was included the trunk flexor muscle strength and dynamic balance. For measuring of dynamic balance was star excursion balance test, to create fatigue in the trunk flexor muscles, used of trunk flexor muscle endurance test and paired t test was used to analyze the data (P≤0/01).
Results: results showed significantly difference in dynamic balance before and after of fatigue protocol, (before fatigue 90/4±7/4) (after fatigue 72/7± 11).
Discussion: muscle fatigue as a contributing factor to the declining balance can be considered one of the risk factors for sports injuries. Regarding the activation of the core muscles before the lower and upper extremities movement in exercise activities, the fatigue of these muscles can also affect sport performance and even reduce postural control. According to this findings, improving core muscle endurance can prevent of injuries associated with postural control.
