Abstract
Introduction: Basis of the special characteristics of elastic bands on focusing different ranges of muscular movements, present study were compared the effectiveness two training models on neural and muscular activation in different ranges of elbow flexion motion. In some previos researches have proved the role of Elastic bands on different rehabilitations but it will be challenged beneficial effects of both models on neural-muscular adaptations in different movement angles in which is mostly needed to recovery the injuries are sufferd on some motor ranges so that present study can answers to this hypothesis of which training model can be support stated adaptations in all angles and helping to movement range on seniors.
Methodology: For this purpose, 15 healthy seniors with the age range of 45-60 years were divided into three groups of Elastic bands (E), Weight (W) training involvements and Control (C). Then, experimental groups were tolerated six weeks elbow flexion training, Pre and post tests were conducted by the electromyogram system to evaluate Biceps muscular activation and electroneurogram system to assess nerve conduction in 4 different ranges of elbow joint. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and HSD Tukey test (with significance level of 0.05).
Results: The results were showed significant difference between E and C on 180, 135, 90 and 45 degree of motion range in both parameters, W and C on 135, 90, 45 degree of muscle activation and no difference in nerve conduction parameters.
Discussion: Finally, Basis of obtained data can be concluded that elastic bands training are more effective method on subparameters of neural adaptations in all different angles than weight training and this case can be essential to recovery some neurologic disorders so that leads to promotion daily activities quality in seniors, so beneficial characteristics of this training model on electroneuromyography parameters will be debatable in main text.
