Abstract
Introduction:In recent years, the rates of obesity and its related illnesses have increased in the country and 71% of Iranian women and men are suffering from overweight and obesity. This study aimed to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of low intensity continuous training on plasma adipolin, insulin resistance and weight in male rats that were obese by high-fat diet.
Methodology: In this study, 14 male Wistar rats that were fed a high-fat diet for 8 weeks were selected. 6 rats were selected as the obese control group (OBC) and 8 modes as the low intensity continuous training group (LICT). LICT groups trained on the treadmill 5 sessions per week for 8 weeks. Blood samples were taken 24 hours after the last training session and plasma Adipolin, insulin and glucose levels were measured. The weights of rats were measured every week of training. In order to study the findings and statistical analysis, the independent t-test was used along with spss 20 software. The level of significance has been considered at p≤0.05.
Results: Data analysis showed that plasma adipolin levels in the LICT group were significantly increased compared to the control group (p=0.000). Insulin resistance Index in LICT group was significantly decreased compared to the control group (p=0.02).The weight of rats in LICT group was significantly decreased compared to the control group (p=0.001).
Discussion: The results indicated that adipolin level in plasma of endurance training group was higher than control group and probably with this increase macrophage inflammatory activity and body fat in fat cells would stop and consequently¸ obesity is also adjusted.
