Planning the Strategy of AVAJ County Educational Sport by SOWT Model

Abstract
Introduction: Considering the importance of planning, especially strategic planning in sport and the need to prepare a strategic program in sports federations and the lack of adequate research in the field of the internal and external environments of strategic planning, this study aims to achieve Planning the Strategy of AVAJ County Educational Sport by SOWT Model.
Methodology: This is an applied research in terms of goal, and a descriptive-analytical research in terms of data collection method. It is also a strategic study performed using the field method. The study population includes the board members and chiefs of Schools sport committee, Elites, senior experts of sport management and authorities that with a total number of 45 people selected using the complete enumeration method. Self-made questionnaires based on SWOT strategic planning model were used for data collection, including a demographic questionnaire and a questionnaire to assess the effect of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the AVAJ county educational sport. The content validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by 5 specialists of sports management. The reliability of the questionnaire was determined more than 0.8 using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. The statistical indices of frequency, percentage of frequency and graphs and tables were used to present the descriptive data, and the KMO test was used in the inferential statistics part. Also from the Friedman and Chi-square tests were used to rank the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Results: Results showed that there is a significant difference among the strengths (χ2= 52.45), weaknesses (χ2= 23.26), opportunities (χ2= 24.61) and threats (χ2= 43.12) of the AVAJ county educational sport from the perspective of the research sample (Sig- 0.01). In addition, the results of the internal and external matrix showed that the AVAJ county educational sport lies in the (ST) area, for which four appropriate strategy was developed..
Discussion: The results shows the most performances of the sports organization, the organizations which have used strategic planning based management, can achieve salient success in different activities. Therefore, the AVAJ county educational sport needs to adopt competitive strategies which aim to use the internal strengths to reduce or eliminate the effects of the existing threats in the external environment of the organization in order to achieve success and its prospects in future.
